CHANGE OF IMMIGRATION STAY PERMIT STATUS
VISITOR STAY PERMIT TO A TEMPORARY STAY PERMIT

A Visitor Stay Permit (ITK) can be changed to a Temporary Stay Permit (ITAS) for a foreign national or a child newly born in an Indonesian Territory, whose father/mother is a holder of an ITK. Application for a change of ITK status is submitted no later than 30 (thirty) days before the expiry of the ITK. Only an ITK originated as a Single-Entry Visitor Visa or a Multiple-Entry Visitor Visa can be changed to an ITAS.

The change of status of an ITK is not granted to:

A holder of an ITK originated as Visa on Arrival (VOA)
-
A visitor entering with Visa Exemption
-
Transportation crew
​
The change of status of an ITK is granted to the following foreign nationals entering Indonesia:
- as an investor
-
as an expert
-
as a cleric
-
as an education and training participant
-
as a scientific researcher
-
as the spouse of an Indonesian citizen
-
as the spouse of a holder of a Temporary Stay Permit or Permanent Stay Permit
-
as the child who has a family relationship with their Indonesian parent by law
-
as the child who is under the age of 18 (eighteen) years and unmarried of a parent holding a Temporary Stay Permit or Permanent Stay Permit
-
based on the principle of benefit for the welfare of society and/or humanity, after obtaining consideration from the Minister
-
as a former Indonesian citizen intending to retain their citizenship based on the provisions of laws and regulations
-
to reside in their second home

TEMPORARY STAY PERMIT TO PERMANENT STAY PERMIT
Limited Stay Permit (ITAS) can be converted into Permanent Stay Permit (ITAP) for foreigners holding ITAS or newborn children in the Indonesian Territory from the father/mother of the ITAS holder who submits an application for a change of status to become an ITAP.
Application for a change of ITK status is submitted no later than 30 (thirty) days before the ITAS expires.
Change of ITAS Status to ITAP is not given for:

Water activities
-
Reasons of benefit for the welfare of society and/or humanity

Upon arrival for a maximum period of 90 (ninety) days and/or 180 (one hundred and eighty) days.

The change of status of an ITK is granted to the following foreign nationals entering Indonesia:

Clergy
-
Worker
-
Investor
-
Facility holders within the framework of a second house
-
Husband or wife who joins the wife or husband who holds a Permanent Stay Permit
-
Children under 18 (eighteen) years of age and unmarried who join their parents who hold a Permanent Stay Permit
-
Former Indonesian Citizen
-
People who combine themselves with husbands or wives of Indonesian Citizens
-
People who join forces with fathers and/or mothers for children of foreign nationality who have family law relations with fathers and/or mothers who are Indonesian citizens;
-
The former child with dual citizenship
-
Children of foreign nationality who are under 18 (eighteen) years old and unmarried from foreigners who are legally married to Indonesian citizens.
STAY PERMIT EXTENSION
VISIT STAY PERMIT EXTENSION

Extension of Visit Stay Permit can be granted to Foreign Nationals holding Visit Stay Permit originating from One-Time Visit Visa and Visit Visa on Arrival (Visa on Arrival)
​
TEMPORARY STAY PERMIT EXTENSION
The Temporary Stay Permit (ITAS) can be extended, except for the ITAS which comes from the Limited Stay Visa on Arrival. ITAS extension is carried out at the Immigration Office whose working area includes the residence of the Foreigner based on the application.

​
PERMANENT STAY PERMIT EXTENSION
​
The permanent Stay Permit can be extended for an unlimited period of time and implemented based on application.
